Slovak Plastic Cluster and challenges of plastic sector

1. Challenges of plastic sector:

The Slovakia is known as a country with highest production rate of cars on a one citizen. However, Germany, Italy, France dominate  in  plastic production in Europe and then other countries follow. The Romania and  the Slovakia are in the middle of list of European plastic statistics.
A few last years, there is evident significant boom of plastic sector, which face to many new challenges like:

– new materials (products);
– increasing pressure to reduce production costs and shortage of skill staff;
– increasing requirements on environmental protection.

2. Slovak Plastic Cluster (SPC) is developing cooperation of institution in plastic sector and it is mapping state of art and trends in sector from it´s founding in 2009.
The Slovak Plastic Cluster was established by 5  institutions, nowadays it unifies 30 members. It´s focus areas are:

– research and development;
– education;
– strength cooperation.

It has diverse portfolio of members and it has own vision.
